What is it?:

Morus and Chrysanthemum (Sang Ju Yin Tang) is a Chinese Medicine formula for use when you notice the first symptoms of a viral cold or flu coming (i.e. within the first 24-48 hrs.). It works in the much same way as Yin Qiao in that it "pushes" the invading pathogen out of the surface layer before it has a chance to dive down deep into the body and create a more severe cold or flu. What makes this formula different from Yin Qiao is that it also has herbs that address cough-- so use it when mild, dry cough is a main symptom being experienced.

What is it good for:

  • mild, dry cough
  • sore throat
  • headache/body aches
  • swollen glands
  • increased thirst

Traditional Chinese medicine benefits:

  • Releases Exterior Wind Heat
  • Descends and Disperses Lung Qi
  • Restores the Downward Flow of Lung Qi

What else you might like to know:

This is a short-term use formula that only works when taken within the first 24-48 hrs of onset of symptoms. Discontinue use after 2-3 days... if the symptoms are abating, then the formula worked; if the symptoms have worsened and you get "sick", then in all likelihood the invading pathogen overwhelmed the body's initial defenses and a change of formula is necessary to address your situation.

It is important to understand that Chinese herbs work by restoring balance to the body. This means that you usually have to take an herb or a formula for a longer period of time than you would with pharmaceuticals in order to get results-- usually at least a month, and often times longer than that... it all depends on the individual and the nature of the ailment being addressed.
