What else you might like to know:

Gui Pi Tang formula was first recorded in the mid-13th century and was probably used in the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries before that. It makes use of Ginseng root and four other herbs (as qi tonics) to help invigorate sluggish digestion and dispel fatigue.

The other herb in the name of this formula is Longan fruit, (or Long yan rou). It is similar to the lychee fruit and has been traditionally revered in China as a potent sexual/love tonic for women-- it said to calm the spirit and enhance the radiance of the eyes.

The remaining herbs in this formula are mostly geared toward addressing anxiety, restlessness, and palpitations.

It is important to understand that Chinese herbs work by restoring balance to the body. This means that you usually have to take an herb or a formula for a longer period of time than you would with pharmaceuticals in order to get results-- usually at least a month, and often times longer than that... it all depends on the individual and the nature of the ailment being addressed.
